Week 6: Type Designer Poster Project (First Draft)
Below is an image of the first draft of my Type Designer Poster Project. As a quick reminder, I chose John Baskerville and I wanted to showcase the letters B for Baskerville and Q as it has a unique serif that is very organically shaped. I kept a clean title that is larger and bolder than the year the Baskerville type was created in 1757. I also added the alphabet to give a greater example of the font's look for each letter. I kept the color pallet simple with a neutral background and some contrasting cool colors. I decided on a tan-like neutral to show the use of older styled paper as well as the newer blue colors to add a modern twist to the text. (Baskerville type is described as a mix of old style and modern.) I overall kept the feel of the poster clean and crisp which bounces off of the clean and crisp feel of the Baskerville Typeface.
(1st image from my three color sketches and messed around a little with the placement of my body text)
